Custom Injection Molder, In-house Design, Paint, and Hydrographic Abilities
Opening in 2020, Juarez Paint and Hydrographics is located next to our Juarez Molding Division. This 90,000 sq. ft state of the art painting and hydrographic facility features a 25,000 sq. ft air conditioned clean room paint line. Using floor mounted conveyors and RFID encoded racks, we are able to paint and hydrographic dip parts on racks up to 4 feet by 5 feet. Parts are washed, dried, flame treated then finished with primer, base coat, midcoat/pearl and clear coated as needed. We have the world’s largest hydrographic dip tank with both 1 meter and 1.3 meter wide film capability of dipping very large parts.
After the parts are washed and dried, our FANUC Flame robot flame treats the surface of the parts to ensure maximum adhesion. Using 7 FANUC P250 Paint robots, we are able to paint 1k Primer, 1k Base Coat, 1k Mid/Pearl Coat and 1k or 2k Clear coat on a variety of different plastic substrates including TPO, PP, Nylon and ABS.
Our labs are equipped with the latest in paint/film measurement including a Keyence Digital microscope for thickness and defect inspection, both Multi-Angle and Single Angle Spectrophotometers as well measuring orange peel with a BYK Wave Scanner.
Our floor mounted conveyor utilizes racks that can hold parts up to 4 feet by 5 feet and 18 inches deep. Our racks are custom designed for our line to ensure consistency and the ability to be transferred and dipped by our hydrographic system.
Used on many power sport vehicles, automotive and consumer products, hydrographic dipping is a great solution to add color to plastic parts. Film is supplied on a roller, an activator is applied and the film is dispensed onto a moving water surface in our tank. The PVA backing of the film dissolves and the ink that is printed on the film is now floating on the water in the tank. The plastic part is now dipped into the ink which then stays on the painted part surface. The plastic part is now washed and dried then a clear coat is applied to protect the dipped surface.
There are 1000’s of different patterns of film ranging from camouflage, carbon fiber, wood grain, metal, and stone looks as well as designer patterns. If the film our customers desire is not available, we have worked with our film suppliers to make custom film designs. Since the film is semi translucent, the base color of the paint allows for many combinations of appearances when combined with the clear coating that is sprayed over the film for protection.
