At Jones Plastic, assembly and testing are critical parts of the value we provide to our customers. Only a relatively small portion of the components we manufacture are simple “shoot and ship” parts. In most cases, we go far beyond basic molding by offering a range of assembly services that help customers reduce internal labor, simplify their supply chain, and receive more complete, production-ready components. Our capabilities include robotic assembly, robotic adhesive dispensing, and precision fastening using digital torque guns, allowing us to deliver consistent, repeatable assembly results across a wide range of products and applications.

We also support several advanced plastic welding and joining processes to create durable, high-quality sub-assemblies. These capabilities include vibration welding, ultrasonic welding, spin welding, and heat staking, enabling us to join components efficiently while meeting product design and performance requirements. By integrating these secondary operations into our manufacturing process, Jones Plastic helps customers reduce handling, improve quality control, and eliminate unnecessary steps between molding and final assembly.

Quality Assurance and PPAP

Quality is built into every stage of our manufacturing process. Jones Plastic provides comprehensive testing, measurement, and validation services to ensure products meet customer specifications, performance requirements, and industry standards.

Our facilities feature full-service metrology laboratories equipped with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), advanced 3D scanning technology, optical measurement systems, and automated inspection equipment. These capabilities support first-article inspections, rapid dimensional layouts, capability studies, and complete Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions. We also perform in-process inspection, pressure decay leak testing, and destructive testing to verify product and assembly performance throughout production.

Beyond dimensional validation, Jones Plastic maintains laboratory capabilities for evaluating both material and cosmetic characteristics. Our testing resources include color measurement equipment to ensure appearance consistency across production lots, as well as material property testing used to assess resin performance, structural integrity, and product durability. Through a combination of destructive and non-destructive testing methods, we verify that components meet functional, aesthetic, and quality requirements before they reach the customer.
